Clinical Knowledge to Practical Skills

Following that, we are honoured to have Mr. Lucas Lim, Dietitian at Dietitian90 Diabetes Care Centre to conduct a workshop named “Beyond HbA1c: Spot the Hidden Root Cause of Diabetes” The session emphasised the importance of looking beyond conventional glycaemic indicators in diabetes management, highlighting how nutritional assessment and body composition analysis can provide deeper insights into metabolic health and support a more holistic, personalised approach to diabetes care.

The subsequent workshop “Hear me Out: Hearing Health & Communication Across the Life Course” conducted by Ms. Suriya Mohamad, Senior Clinical Support Audiologist & Trainer, highlighted the importance of hearing health and effective communication throughout different stages of life. It also emphasised that hearing health is an integral component of comprehensive healthcare, healthy ageing, and overall quality of life.

The workshop “From BP Monitoring to AFib Detection: A Practical Guide for Pharmacists” carried out by Ms. Eunice Teo, Senior Manager from Omron explored the practical application of blood pressure monitoring and atrial fibrillation (AFib) screening in pharmacy practice. The session featured demonstrations of AFib screening and ECG monitoring, highlighting their key functions and potential role in supporting cardiovascular risk assessment, early detection, and timely referral for further medical evaluation.
